Adelaide 500 speedway design revealed

VAILO Adelaide 500 organisers have revealed a render of the upcoming speedway track that will be introduced at the Adelaide event in November.

Renders of the upcoming speedway track that will debut at this year’s Adelaide 500 in November.

The 342 metre track will be built two weeks prior to the event taking place and is expected to have speedway action every night across the event. Thursday and Friday nights however will included the NAPA Sprintcar Invitational, which will see All-star drivers such as James McFadden, Lachlan McHugh and Jock Goodyer, battle it out in 950 horse power Sprintcars for a $100,000 prize.

The organisation has announced that there will be a capped attendance at 8000 spectators with plenty of viewing areas to catch all the action. Fans will be able to watch trackside viqa bleachers, standing areas as well as VIP hospitality.

“Being a part of the VAILO Adelaide 500 is huge to me, it’s one of the biggest touring car races in the world so for us to showcase what we do on a stage as big as this is going to be fantastic.”

“Ï grew up going to the Speedway in Adelaide and I am excited to come back, it’s been a long time and I know how great the fans can be.” Said McFadden

VAILO Adelaide 500 Chief Executive Rebecca Lawson showed her excitement for the Sprintcars to join the Adelaide event.

“We know that the addition of the NAPA Speedway, Sprintcars of the City, has delighted motorsport fans across the country and we are extremely proud to have the best in the industry building the track and racing.”

“It’s the first time that Sprintcars have been back in the city of Adelaide since Rowley Park and the purpose-built track has been designed to provide the best racing spectacle for our fans.”

The VAILO Adelaide 500 will take place November 14-17 and is set to be the most exciting event in the track’s 25 year history with Sprintcars, Supercross and Stadium Super Trucks set to highlight the event.

Larson to race Down Under for $100,000 prize pool

NASCAR icon, Kyle Larson will star in an All-star three day event in Perth in December.

Kyle Larson will headline the inaugural High Limits International event at Kwinana in late December.

The three-night event, which will conclude with a $100,000 winner-takes-all A-Main, will feature Larson alongside stars like Brad Sweet, Rico Abreu, and James McFadden.

Larson is set to compete for Perth-based team, Jason Pryde Motorsports, well known for their involvement in the WA sprintcar series. JPM driver, Jason Pryde, will step back from driving duties to primarily focus on Larson’s car for the Perth event.

Larson has certainty made the most of his 2024 campaign, With a total of four wins this season, he currently is running second in the Cup Series, only 17 points behind Tyler Reddick. Larson also debuted in the IndyCar series in May, finishings 18th in the 108th Indianapolis 500.

Larson expressed his excitement about racing in Australia, citing Brad Sweet’s recommendations and the positive feedback about JPM’s equipment and team.

The High Limits International event will be held from December 28-30 and will be streamed over on FloRacing.
