Osborn Motorsport’s Joel Heinrich takes the early charge in Perth after clean sweeping day one of the Bosch Power Tools Perth Super 440 as he attempts to take back the championship lead from Kody Garland.

In our first and only practice session of the weekend, Heinrich topped the session with 1:02.639, only +0.537 clear of Garland. Local favourite Mason Harvey finished in third position with a 1:03.306.

Qualifying was a lackluster due to an incident involving Joseph Andriske which brought out the red flag, which prematurely ended the session with four minutes to go. Due to the early stoppage, many drivers were caught out and barely were able to set a definitive run. Mason Harvey ended up being one of the drivers to get caught out, failing to set a lap time resulting in starting last place for the first race of the weekend. Heinrich was able to land himself in pole position prior to the stoppage, +0.721 clear of rookie leader, Caleb Paterson.

Friday afternoon saw plenty of action in the opening 18 minute race of the Battery World Aussie Racing Cars at CARCO.com.au Raceway. 

Due to a clean up from a previous session, the race had a single-file rolling start, which Heinrich took advantage of to comfortably win +1.249 clear of Paterson. However, the moment that got everyone on their feet was the battle for third position. 

For the majority of the race, all eyes were on both Kody Garland and TFH Racing’s Josh Thomas as they battled it out for the final spot on the podium, which ultimately ended in Garland’s favor. Thomas would finish in fourth, just +0.044 clear of local hero Mason Harvey who moved up an incredible seventeen positions to finish an impressive fifth place.

In the battle for the Masters cup, Scott O’Keefe claims the class win with Scott Andriske taking out the Gold Cup.

Race 2 kicks off this afternoon at 2:25pm local time.

Rob Boaden claims the win in a shortened final race of the 2024 Formula RX8 season. This race win marks three race wins for Boaden this weekend after showing strong performance all weekend long. However it wasn’t enough to beat Brock Paine in the championship hunt after falling only 13 points behind the TFH Racing driver after a cracking six round battle.

Geoff Connell rounds up a solid weekend in third place behind newly crowned champion and Justin Lewis also ends a strong weekend in fourth place.

Terry Lewis had a few moments in the final race with cutting the final corner numerous times and unfortunately after the crash in the previous race, Ivan Vantagiato was forced to sit out in the final race.

Now that the first ever season is done and dusted, teams will now be working hard to prepare for the 2025 season as the series continues to follow the Hi-Tec Oils Super Series.

RACE 4 RESULTS:

Aussie Racing Cars has is making exciting strides with the delivery of chassis number 134 from its new partner, Triple Eight Race Engineering. This chassis, labeled ARC-888-134, maintains the familiar specifications of existing ARC vehicles but benefits from Triple Eight’s renowned precision and engineering expertise.

Under the new collaboration, Triple Eight will provide a range of key services, allowing ARC to utilize the advanced design and fabrication capabilities from their Banyo, Queensland facility. This partnership is set to enhance the quality and reliability of ARC’s offerings as they prepare for further growth in the upcoming 2025 season.

The 2024 season has been a landmark year for ARC, with participation exceeding 40 entries on multiple occasions and maintaining a minimum of 32 competitors, solidifying its status as Australia’s largest major national category in terms of consistent competitor numbers.
