Adam Marjoram has swept the SuperUte Series Championship for 2024, securing victory in the fourth and final race of the weekend in Adelaide.
Marjoram once again led from start to finish as Cody Brewczynski tried to snatch his first every victory as the pair crossed the finish line almost side by side.
Ryan How had his best finish of the weekend with P3 as he had a lonely race with no one to battle. Behind him there was a battle brewing between Ryal Harris and Craig Dontas, however, with 3 laps to go Ryal Harris’s Mazda BT-50 decided it wanted to finish the season early as smoke streamed out of the back of the #58 car, which forced Ryal to come into the lane after being shown a mechanical black flag with Aaron Borg in 5th place watching on.
David Sieders and Jayden Wanzek had a terrific battle for half the race for 6th position, bumping their way up Flinders Street as David got the better of Jayden by the end.
SA’s Jayden Cottrell was running well in 6th position for a while but into the final corner he had a spin and a few minutes later stopped on the side of the track in a safe place, ending a disastrous week for the #41 car.
Adam Marjoram has won the wildest of SuperUte races, with the commentary team calling it the race of the year.
The race was a reverse top 8, putting South Aussies Adrian Cottrell on pole and rookie Jayden Wanzek in 2nd. Cottrell lead until turn 8 on bartels road as he suffered a mechanical issue which and with him parked, it sent out the safety car on lap 2.
After the restart, Ben Walsh hit the infamous turn 8 wall and stopping at the very same spot Cottrell did, causing another safety car period.
Following that there was a green white checkered situation that caused absolute chaos.
All was well until Turn 10 where Jayden Wanzek and Ryal Harris were side by side fighting for the win, at turn 11 Harris got left with no space and squeezed into the tire wall, ending his race. Meanwhile, that wasn’t the end of the action for Wanzek as into the final corner Cody Brewczynski saw his chance at a win and put a move on Wanzek that did not end well, forcing both of them off the track and through came Adam Marjoram to swoop in for victory.
Race 3 will begin at 11:05am local time on Saturday.
Race 1 on the streets of Adelaide for the SuperUte category has been won pole sitter Adam Marjoram as he extends his championship lead with 3 races to go.
Marjoram led from start to finish in complete control as toward the back of the field there was carnage. Crick followed Marjoram from the very beginning to finish in 2nd place.
David Seiders had a great launch off the grid and managed to take 3rd position from Aaron Borg who finished in 4th with Cody Brewczynski closely behind in 5th.
South Australian’s Jayden Wanzek was in all sorts of battles with Ryan How who managed to pass Wanzek with two laps to go for 6th position, Jayden finished 7th.
Following Jayden was another South Aussie in Adrian Cottrell in 8th place with Ben Walsh and Ryal Harris rounding out the top 10.
