Vailo sets the stage for the World’s largest HPV race

The World’s largest HPV Race is set to get larger with VAILO providing a large screen to catch all the action trackside.

VAILO has teamed up with the Australian International Pedal Prix Inc as they prepare for the final round of the UniSA Australian HPV Super Series.

VAILO will install a large LED display in the centre of the circuit behind race control. With it you will be able to catch all the action trackside as well as some content made from the Pedal Prix community.

“The addition of the VAILO screen will take the event to another level,” said Marcus Lacey, CEO of AIPP.

“The technology is amazing and will provide a new and exciting experience for everyone at this major regional event. Live track feed, live results, track side interviews, the scope of content that can be brilliantly displayed is exciting.”

VAILO has been well known for being part of the sporting world most notably, their contribution to the AFL Gather Round and of course being the major sponsor for the Adelaide 500.

VAILO’s Founder, Aaron Hickman shared his enthusiasm ahead of next weeks great race:

“We’ve gained an appreciation for the scale of the UniSA Australian HPV Super Series, especially the 24-hour Australian International Pedal Prix at Murray Bridge,” said Hickman.

“As a company heavily involved in lighting and digital display projects for educational institutions, this partnership is a great way for us to give back to the community.”

UniSA Australian HPV Super Series commentator, Daniel Loechel shared his excitement with the addition for the big event:

“It’s truly an exciting time for the series as we will be able to maximise this tool. With the VAILO screen being implemented, as well as showing the live feed and interview, it’ll provide the opportunity for the community to show off their work.”

“With the VAILO screen, a number of Pedal Prix content creators will get the chance to show off their work to the whole Pedal Prix community. The things these creators make is truly surreal and I cannot wait to share their work with the community.”

The 24hr Australian International Pedal Prix at Murray Bridge kicks off Friday September 20th for a new qualifying system alongside the iconic top 10 shootout, which has been moved to a new Friday evening slot.

The Australian Human Powered Vehicle Super Series (AHPVSS)—a premier event celebrating innovation, sustainability, and endurance—is set for a major transformation in February 2025. After years of support from the University of South Australia, the major sponsorship branding will transition to Adelaide University, ushering in a new era of growth and opportunity for the series.

For decades, the AHPVSS has been a showcase of human ingenuity, where school, university, and community teams design, build, and race human-powered vehicles. These events push the boundaries of sustainable transport, foster technical excellence, and unite passionate participants from across Australia.

The University of South Australia has played a pivotal role in the series’ expansion, driving innovation, improving race conditions, and enhancing safety measures. Their commitment has left a lasting legacy, providing young engineers and designers with a platform to test their skills and creativity.

Now, as Adelaide University takes the reins, the series is set for its next chapter and will be renamed as AUAHPVSS effective immediately.

With the 2025 season kicking off late next month in Mt Gambier, teams and riders have been very busy behind the scenes preparing for another great year for the sport.

GTrikes reveal brand new bike ahead of Murray Bridge 24hr

Wattle Racing will don a brand NEW bike designed by GTrikes for this weekend’s Australian International Pedal Prix.

Wattle Racing have revealed that their mixed team, Acacia, will be running a new spec recumbent trike designed by John Taylor and Geoff Wood in this weekend’s Australian International Pedal Prix 24hr at Murray Bridge.

While running a similar design to previous GTrikes, The new “Lo Top” model has been designed with Primary School teams in mind so that not only can they be competitive with a sleek aerodynamic design, but will also be easy to ride.

The Lo Top’s uniqueness compared to the rest of the field is its brand new hot rod “cut and shut’ designed door/roof with a lower front window to provide the rider with better vision.

Despite being designed for mostly Primary School students, the Lo Top as also be well suited for anyone 5ft 10 or lower.
